Beyond The Limits

Impression. This was taken for a photography collaboration-cum-self-improvement-challenge with one of my photography friends just last week. A photo of a lone wildflower by the road. Do click on the image to view it in Facebook! :)

Being the usual vain, hard-headed me, I have believed that I was considered good in the world of photography - at least for a person my age. However, the photo challenge shattered that bubble of confidence as I was assigned my first theme, "Impression". The theme seriously stumped me - my brain was bombarding itself with questions of what, where, how etc.

How will I portray Impression?

Where will I set the scene?

I went totally blank at first, finally accepting the fact that I'm not unbeatable; my weakness?

Creativity.

I'm one of those people who can snap what I'm ordered to snap pretty well, but ask me to set my own scenes and all? I'll go totally blank. In other words, I'm just a tool, a screwdriver, a camera, and not the one actually responsible for producing a piece of art. Not the mastermind. Guess this challenge is in a way good as it trains me to set my own interpretation for the theme. Set my own parameters, my scenes, my method of portrayal. The deadline concept is another plus point I guess; as it forces me to think in a time constraint.

You still have a long journey to go, dear Me :).
