A Letter To Myself

Dear Ryo,

You have an unwavering faith that you can and will achieve whatever you set as your life's goals. This confidence will serve you well. Never let a fear of failure hold you back from experiencing everything life has to offer.

You are blessed with many gifts, but for a successful, happy life, you need to be smart about your personal decisions. Live a life of integrity, listen to those you respect about choices you will make, and don't engage in reckless personal behaviors.

There is no benefit in worrying endlessly about pleasing everyone all the time. Do not spend your emotional energy on what is outside of your control.

At your age, life seems to stretch out endlessly, and you take your good health for granted. Know that life is a grand adventure and it goes by quickly. Seize the moments to live it well. Do the things you need to do to protect your health so you can enjoy life fully.

Your career is very important to you. To achieve much, hard work, commitment, and study are the prerequisites, and you must embrace those disciplines enthusiastically to succeed.

Never forget that however much you value your professional career, it is your personal life that will truly determine your happiness. So invest your time in your family and friends, and you will be rewarded many times over.

You alone are responsible for who you become and for your own happiness. You get back what you put into life, so always do your best - and remember, whatever happens, you are loved.

Neways, I expanded my limits further today by exploring more of the metropolitan city that I guess I'll be stuck in for a few years, if not my whole life. Went to KLCC at noon just now, and started walking around the area, finally ending up at the KL Tower, a half-hour walk there (Google Maps says 24, but then it didn't take into account me taking stalker-shots of pedestrians :D)

.. Climbed up the steep slope leading to the tower itself, went to the information counter, only to be told that I needed to buy a ticket to get to the Observation Deck - a whopping RM45/ticket. Asked for the prices to reach the other floors up there - RM80, RM95, RM110. Gah.

Seeing as I couldn't get what I wanted - a bird's-eye view of Kuala Lumpur, I'm left with only one viable option;

- KL Tower's "bulb", contrasted against the blue sky.

Oh, and, there were plenty of wildflowers on the road leading up to the KL Tower :D.

- Bee! :D

Later, I walked the 1.7km distance back to KLCC again, and got my weekly dosage of photography magazines in Kinokuniya as usual :).

Today opened yet another door for myself - showing myself that I can achieve whatever I set as my life's goals. I guess it all starts with simple, trivial stuff, such as walking a short distance, venturing the unknown just to get some photographic shots.

I can, I will, go higher.

To myself, with love,
- Ryo.
