Outlooks The Truth

The first impression, the good outlook - usually it's all that makes you able to qualify for a job, for something you wanted, for your dreams.

Agreed?

No, i don't.

Does good outlooks really mean EVERYTHING?

Does it mean that we wouldn't have to check and examine further?

Does it mean that we should fog our eyes by looking only at the fog that veils the actual object?

No, it doesn't mean that.

You get them all the time, people who care about the OUTSIDE more than the INSIDE.

A: "Hey, i got a new laptop for RM6,XXX yesterday!" *shows the receipt*
B: "Ooh it looks fabulous! What's the processor speed?"
A: "Uhh..? What's that?"

A sample conversation related to me by my cousin. To some, the performance of laptops are defined by the "cover look", and the amount of money wasted on it.

Slow computer?
ADD RAM!

Bad graphics?
BUY NEW GRAPHIC PROCESSING UNIT!

Sadly, those are actually some real situations.

Slow computer?
Why not check your computer for adware / spyware, and delete unnecessary files to clear up space?

Bad graphics?
Who knows, you might have forgotten to set the graphics to "High" yet?

Some people believe that money solves everything.

My advice to them:
Stuff RM5 into your floppy drive and ask your computer to take care of itself, go on.

Sometimes, its even more fun to know how things actually WORK, instead of just enjoying the OUTPUT.

Take your computer for example, find out what the components mean, and find out how they work.

A computer keyboard distinguishes each physical key from every other and reports all keypresses to the controlling software.

As usual, quoted from Wikipedia - the best site to read about how things work (in my opinion). The more you read, the more you will read - that's my personal opinion of Wikipedia.

Mentioned earlier, it's always fascinating to learn about how things work, and how people thought of making it work.

My next point?

Its actually useful to know how things work too.

By knowing how a lock works, you might learn the way of picking locks.
By understanding HTML commands, you know how to extract a song from a website.
By knowing how people's minds usually think, you might learn the art of psychology (or mind-reading, hehe!)
By understanding the simple formula involved behind mind games, you could understand how does THIS "MIND-READER GAME" works, :P.
By understanding your computer, you'd know where to scan when you get infected by a computer virus.
By understanding how computer viruses work, you'd know the way to cure it.

Sheesh, didn't know that i wrote so many Bys..

Oh, i went out-of-topic.

Well, about outlook again, i don't fully believe in outlooks, nor do i use Microsoft Outlook. I believe that there's sure to be something hidden in every person, something unique.

"It's good to see things from a different perspective."
[Quoted from YD at Perspective : Calligraphy - Answer]

I guess it is.

People who're weak in one point may be excellent in another.

And people like me are feeling bored right now and feels like lazing off instead of blogging.

Hmm, what would i think next time when i look back at these posts after a few years maybe?

It might be a nice reminder of my teenage years..
It might bring back unhappy memories..
Or i might not be lucky to live till a few years later, lol.

Who knows?
