Christmastide

As Santa emerged from his turbo-charged reindeer sled, he stole a glance at his military chronograph, which he stole from someone's house long ago, smiling at the thought that people around the world might be singing Christmas carols this very moment.

Grabbing a handful of fake Rolexes costing 10 bucks each, he began his climb into his first "target house", completely ignoring the CCTV directly aimed at his face.

"I wonder whether the kids are aslee- aslee- oh crap."

Santa had got stuck halfway through the chimney.

Within hours, Santa was beaten around, handcuffed, and sent to the local police station, charged for the offence "Burglary Attempt".

Reason?

He messed up the date. It was the 25th of November.

Okay. I admit it, i was (and still am) bored out of my wits.

Everywhere i look, i see signs of Christmas creeping up the corner.

Okay, the last one's nonsense - just the personal message of someone who hasn't been online for ages.

Christmas trees, candy canes, presents - does those actually DEFINE Christmas?

I've only celebrated Christmas once in my life - that was with my uncle's family like four years ago.
Our family doesn't celebrate Christmas. To us, its just "a day on the calendar".

Putting up tinsels, hanging mistletoes, i've only seen all those in books.

Novels.

Would i ever get to know the true meaning of Christmas?

Not the "technical definition" of course - Christmas technically means the mark of the winter solstice. (Source: Wikipedia + Da Vinci Code)

But what does Christmas actually symbolize?

A happy time to celebrate?
A reunion for friends?
A time for family members to gather?
Or a combination of all above?

I never understood Christmas, seeing as i never celebrated it, and i don't have the chance to do so.

Chances arrive eventually.

And they did arrive at my doorstep already.

Well, i've got invited to two "Christmas parties" - one by Wong, one by Fong. (no rhyme intended)

Wong's was supposed to be a Christmas Barbeque Party
Fong's was supposed to be a Christmas Musical Concert.

And now im just getting more confused about Christmas, geez.

Food?
Music?

I'll decide after i attend both.

Wong's party is supposed to be held tomorrow night, i'll see whether i'd be lucky enough to get some photos.

Btw, i bet i wont get any presents after all, pitiful Santa XD.
